BSc Nursing (Post Basic) is a 2 years course which is designed to enhance nursing skills of the professionals who already have a background in nursing or a similar field.The basic eligibility criteria are that students should have completed Class 12 with a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and should have a registration in Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM).In Post basic BSc Nursing candidates are provided a holistic mixture of classroom lectures and hands-on training.
Roles & Responsibilities
There are two types of nurse in a hospital one is technical and the other is non technical, duties of non technical nurse are: -
Duties for Non-Technical Nurse
Maintain the record of patient when he arrived and when discharged.
Providing full assistance to the patient and giving him all necessary instructions.
Proper observations of patients in every two hours and note down any change and inform that to doctor.
Providing all the necessary things to the patients like bed pans, pots etc.
Take care of diets of patients and giving medicine in time.
Preparation of clean, hygienic and healthy diet for each patient according to his prescription.
Duties for Technical Nurse
Maintaining the database of medicines and injections.
Providing assistance to doctor in dressing of wounds, O2 therapy etc.
Maintaining the devices like pulse graph generator.
Maintaining the reports.
Preparation of various test and helping them, preparing injections etc.

Eligibility Criteria
Admission are taken through entrance exam conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University UP
Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986 will be eligible for admission.
Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration
Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas

Ophthalmic Nursing
Leprosy Nursing
TB Nursing
Psychiatric Nursing
Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
Community Health Nursing
Cancer Nursing
Orthopedic Nursing
Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by national Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
